Our Mission
The Federation of Emo ’ya Babondo Australia (FEBA) is deeply committed to uniting our community in the search for a workable and lasting solution to the ongoing war in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We recognise that the conflict has caused immense suffering, displacement, and instability, not only for those directly affected but also for the wider Congolese diaspora who carry the pain of their homeland. FEBA’s mission is to bring together diverse voices—community members, leaders, youth, and partners—into a collective effort that prioritises peace, reconciliation, and sustainable development. By fostering dialogue, promoting solidarity, and encouraging inclusive participation, FEBA seeks to empower our community to contribute meaningfully to peacebuilding initiatives. Our dedication is not limited to advocacy; it extends to practical support for those impacted by the conflict, raising awareness internationally, and building bridges between communities in Australia and the DRC. We believe that through unity, collaboration, and shared responsibility, we can help create conditions for stability and hope, ensuring that future generations inherit a country free from the cycle of war.
Our Programs
Food Distribution and Support
We run several humanitarian initiatives, with one of the most important being food distribution for communities displaced by conflict in Eastern DRC. This program provides staple foods to families in camps and temporary shelters, prioritising vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly. Alongside direct food aid, we also include nutrition awareness and basic support activities to help families make the most of limited resources. In short: our food distribution program addresses immediate hunger while also building resilience among displaced populations, ensuring dignity and support during crisis.
